Gravity Lubricators are frequently used for chain lubrication. This reduces friction, minimizes wear, stretch, and corrusion, and can even reduce power consumption.  Gravity lubricators typically consist of a brush, reservoir, and adjustable precision needle valve to control the flow rate.  They are toggle or solenoid operated.
