Oil-Rite manufactures Lubrication Systems specifically to customer requirements.  All systems are engineered, designed, manufactured and fully tested at Oil-Rite.  This is an example of a custom built Circulating Oil System.

This Circulating Oil System has dual gear pumps each providing 5 GPM at 15 PSI. The dual ½ HP, 1725 RPM, TEFC motors are operated by 3 phase power at 230/460V 60Hz.

The 25 gallon capacity reservoir is constructed of welded steel. It has (2) 1/2” NPT drains and (2) 1” NPT return connections. A top filler cap makes filling the reservoir quick and simple. The filler cap is equipped with an air filter and liquid strainer to help maintain liquid quality. A baffle in the tank separates sediment and reduces turbulence. There are dual 100 mesh stainless steel suction filters inside the reservoir to filter larger debris. A low level switch inside the reservoir can be wired to shut down machinery or turn on warning devices when the liquid supply fails or recedes to a predetermined level.  A conduit box and relay are provided for electrical connection of the low level switch.

This system is plumbed for continuous operation with (2) dual filtration systems. The 23 micron, 1000 beta stainless steel filters feature replaceable elements, allowing one filter to be serviced while maintaining continuous system operation using the duplicate filter. Dual differential pressure gages and switches are provided to monitor circulation and signal an alarm caused by high levels of filter contamination.

This system also features a liquid cooled heat exchanger to help maintain a constant oil supply temperature. The heat exchanger used with this Circulating Oil System removes approximately 26,000 BTU/HR. Oil goes in at 140°F and out at 115°F. 5GPM of cooling water is required at 90°F maximum.

Additional controls include:

  • A pressure gage displaying 0-60 PSI.
  • A stainless steel thermometer displaying 0 to 250°F.
  • Bronze check valves located after each pump and at the system outlet to ensure fluid flows in only one direction.
  • A cast iron bypass relief valve near the system outlet, used to set system pressure, adjustable from 7 to 35 PSI.
  • Cast iron bypass relief valves located after the pumps, used as safety relief, adjustable from 30-100 PSI.
  • A flow switch located near the system outlet, adjustable from 1 to 6 GPM.
  • A pressure switch located near the system outlet, adjustable from .5 to 80 PSI. The switch is housed in a NEMA 4 enclosure.

All Circulating Oil Systems are quoted specifically to customer requirements.  Pricing can be determined only after the Circulating Oil System Request Form (found on this page) is completed.  Contact the bearing manufacturer for information on the flow rate and fluid required.

Delivery is dependent upon supplier availability, lead times range from 4 to 10 weeks.
