Oil-Rite manufactures Lubrication Systems specifically to customer requirements.  All systems are engineered, designed, manufactured and fully tested at Oil-Rite.  This is an example of a custom built Circulating Oil System.

This Circulating Oil System has dual cast iron gear pumps, each providing 13 GPM at 28.5 PSI. The dual, 1-1/2 HP, 1760 RPM, TEFC motors are operated by 3 phase power at 230/460V 60Hz.

The 120 gallon capacity reservoir is constructed with welded steel. A top filler cap makes filling the reservoir quick and simple. The filler cap is equipped with an air filter and liquid strainer to help maintain liquid quality. A 100 mesh stainless steel suction filter inside the reservoir helps filter larger debris. A baffle in the tank separates sediment and reduces turbulence. There are (2) 1-1/2” Female NPT return connections and (2) ½ NPT drains. A level switch inside the reservoir can be wired to shut down machinery or turn on warning devices when the liquid supply fails or recedes to a predetermined level.

A liquid level gage on the outside of the reservoir features a dial thermometer displaying temperatures from 0° to 250°F, allowing visual check of liquid level, condition, and temperature at a glance.

The 25 micron, carbon steel, duplex filter features a 35 PSID internal bypass and has valves on the drains and air vent connections. A differential pressure gage and transmitter are provided to monitor circulation and detect high levels of filter contamination.

Heaters can maintain a certain liquid temperature and assist in cold weather start-ups.  This Circulating Oil System features a 3000 watt screw plug immersion type heater.  The integral thermostat is adjustable from 60° to 250° F.  The heater is housed in a Nema 4 enclosure.

A brazed plate heat exchanger maintains a constant oil supply temperature. The heat exchanger used with this Circulating Oil System removes approximately 55,000 BTU/HR, and requires 15 GPM of cooling water at a 104° F maximum.

A temperature actuated modulating water control valve minimizes water usage. This bronze valve monitors the temperature at the heat exchangers cooling water outlet and adjusts water flow accordingly. It is adjustable from 60° to 140°F. A stainless steel water pressure reducer valve located at the heat exchanger cooling inlet reduces water pressure to within heat exchanger design limits. It is adjustable from 25 to 75 PSI.

This Lubrication System features a NEMA electrical enclosure containing motor logic and control circuitry, system status lights, local start/stop switches, and customer interface connections.

Additional controls include:

  • Dual pressure gages displaying 0-60 PSI.
  • Check valves located after each pump to ensure fluid flows in only one direction.
  • Bypass relief valves to protect the pumps and system components in the event of an overpressure condition.
  • Needle valves located after pumps, of carbon steel construction.
  • A pressure switch adjustable from .5 to 80 PSI.
  • A back pressure/relief regulator located near the system outlet to help maintain desired pressure, adjustable 10-40 PSI.
  • A temperature transmitter located at the heat exchanger outlet.
  • A temperature switch adjustable from 70° to 205°F.
  • (2) Thermometers displaying 0-250°F, located at the heat exchanger inlet and outlet.
  • (5) Flow meters/switches located at the system outlets, (2) rated 0-2 GPM, and (3) units rated 0-5 GPM.
  • (5) Needle valves located near system outlets to control flow rates.

All Circulating Oil Systems are quoted specifically to customer requirements.  Pricing can be determined only after the Circulating Oil System Request Form (found on this page) is completed.  Contact the bearing manufacturer for information on the flow rate and fluid required.

Delivery is dependent upon supplier availability, lead times range from 4 to 10 weeks.
