Oil-Rite manufactures Lubrication Systems specifically to customer requirements.  All systems are engineered, designed, manufactured and fully tested at Oil-Rite.  This is an example of a custom built Circulating Oil System.

This Circulating Oil System is equipped with a cast iron pump providing 5 GPM at 150 PSI.  The 1 HP, 1745 RPM, TEFC motor is operated by 3 phase power at 575V 60Hz.

The 25 gallon capacity reservoir is constructed of welded 304 stainless steel.  A top filler cap makes filling the reservoir quick and simple.  The filler cap is equipped with an air filter and liquid strainer to help maintain liquid quality. There are (2) ½” NPT drains and (1) 4” NPT return connection in the top plate.  A baffle in the tank separates sediment and reduces turbulence.  A 100 mesh aluminum and stainless steel suction filter within the reservoir filters larger debris. Level switches in the reservoir can be wired to shut down machinery or turn on warning devices when the liquid supply fails or reaches a predetermined level.

This system is plumbed for continuous operation with dual filtration systems.  Dual 23 micron, 1000 beta filters near the outlet help maintain liquid quality.  One filter can be serviced while maintaining continuous system operation using the duplicate filter. The filters have spin-on elements for simple replacement. Dual differential pressure gages and switches are provided to monitor circulation and signal an alarm caused by high levels of filter contamination.

A liquid cooled heat exchanger maintains a constant oil supply temperature.  It removes about 16,000 BTU/Hr. This system was designed for an application where oil circulates in at about 155° F and out at 140° F.

A temperature actuated modulating water control valve minimize water usage.  These bronze valves monitor the temperature at the heat exchangers cooling oil outlets and adjust water flow accordingly.  It is adjustable from 100° to 175° F.

Heaters can maintain a certain liquid temperature and assist in cold weather start-ups.  This Circulating Oil System features a 1200 watt immersion heater.  The heater is mounted on the side of the reservoir and housed in a NEMA 4 enclosure.  It has an integral thermostat adjustable from 60° to 250° F.

Additional controls include:

  • Dual stainless steel pressure gages, (1) located after the pump and (1) located near the system outlet, each displaying 0-200 PSI.
  • A stainless steel vacuum gage located at the pump suction inlet.
  • A bypass relief valve located near system outlet, used as safety relief and to set system output pressure, set at 150 PSI, adjustable from 60 to 175 PSI.
  • A bypass relief valve located after the pumps for pump safety relief, set at 200 PSI, adjustable from 150 to 350 PSI.
  • A flow switch near the system outlet, adjustable from 1 to 6 GPM.
  • Dual stainless steel pressure transmitters, located after the pump, and at system outlet, 0 to 100 PSI range, with 4-20 mA output.
  • A temperature transmitter located in the reservoir.

All Circulating Oil Systems are quoted specifically to customer requirements. Pricing can be determined only after the Circulating Oil System Request Form (found on this page) is completed. Contact the bearing manufacturer for information on the flow rate and fluid required.
