Oil-Rite manufactures Lubrication Systems specifically to customer requirements. All systems are engineered, designed, manufactured and fully tested at Oil-Rite. This is an example of a custom built Circulating Oil System.

This Circulating Oil System has dual gear pumps, each providing 6 GPM at 15 PSI. The dual 3/4 HP, 1725 RPM, TEFC motors are operated by 3 phase power at 230/460V 60Hz.

An electrical mounting frame allows the customer to mount a 24” wide by 36” high NEMA enclosure.

The 30 gallon capacity reservoir is constructed of welded steel. A top filler cap makes filling the reservoir quick and simple. The filler cap is equipped with an air filter and liquid strainer to help maintain liquid quality. A baffle in the tank separates sediment and reduces turbulence. There are (2) 1” female NPT returns and (2) 1/2” female NPT drains.  A 100 mesh stainless steel suction filter inside the reservoir filters larger debris.

A low level switch in the reservoir can be wired to shut down machinery or turn on warning devices when the liquid supply fails or recedes to a predetermined level.  The wiring can be accessed through the conduit box and relay.

This system is plumbed for continuous operation with a dual filtration system. Dual 3 micron, 1000 beta stainless steel filters feature replaceable elements, allowing one filter to be serviced while maintaining continuous system operation using the duplicate filter. The filters feature a spin-on element to facilitate simple cleaning and replacement.

Heaters can maintain a certain liquid temperature and assist in cold weather start-ups. This Circulating Oil System features a 1500 watt screw plug immersion type heater. The heater is mounted to the reservoir and housed in a Nema 4 enclosure. There is an integral thermostat adjustable from 60° to 250° F.

This system also features a water cooled heat exchanger to help maintain a constant oil supply temperature. The heat exchanger removes approximately 16,400 BTU/HR, and requires 3 GPM of cooling water at a 60° F.  It is designed for an application where oil circulates in at about 120° F and out at 107° F.  A thermometer displaying 0° to 250° F is located near the heat exchanger outlet to monitor temperature.  There is an RTD probe for temperature detection.

A temperature actuated modulating water control valve minimizes water usage. The bronze valve monitors the temperature at the heat exchanger’s cooling oil outlet and adjusts water flow accordingly. It is adjustable from 60° to 140° F.

Additional Features:

·          A 7” centerline liquid level gage on the outside of the reservoir features a dial thermometer displaying temperatures from 0° to 250° F, allowing visual check of liquid level, condition, and temperature at a glance.

·          (2) brass flow switches, adjustable from 1.8 to 2.4 GPM, shipped separately for customer installation into supply lines.

·          A pressure switch adjustable from .5 to 90 PSI, in a Nema 4 enclosure.

·          A pressure gage displaying 0 – 60 PSI, located near the system outlet.

·          (3) Carbon steel check valves, one located after each pump and at the system outlet to ensure fluid flows in only one direction.

·          A cast-iron bypass relief valve located near system outlet, adjustable from 7 to 35 PSI.

·          (4) Carbon steel ball valves

This custom built circulating oil system measures 38” by 27”. The overall height is approximately 79”. The system can be secured using (4) mounting holes located on the base of the unit.

All Circulating Oil Systems are quoted specifically to customer requirements. Pricing can be determined only after the Circulating Oil System Request Form (found on this page) is completed. Contact the bearing manufacturer for information on the flow rate and fluid required.
