Oil-Rite manufactures Lubrication Systems specifically to customer requirements.  All systems are engineered, designed, manufactured and fully tested at Oil-Rite.  This is an example of a custom built Circulating Oil System.

This Circulating Oil System is equipped with a main pump and a backup pump, providing 8.5 GPM maximum at 35 PSI.  The primary motor is 3/4 HP, 1725 RPM, TEFC operated by 3 phase power at 208V/60Hz, utilizing a C-face adapter.  The system is also equipped with a 125 VDC, 3/4 HP, 1750 RPM, TEFC backup motor.

The 30 gallon capacity reservoir is constructed of welded steel.  A top filler cap makes filling the reservoir quick and simple.  The filler cap is equipped with an air filter and liquid strainer to help maintain liquid quality.  A baffle in the tank separates sediment and reduces turbulence.  There are (3) 1” female NPT returns and (2) 1/2” female NPT drains.  The system outlet has a 1” female NPT connection.

This system is plumbed for continuous operation with dual filtration systems.  The 6 micron, 3 micron absolute, 1000 beta filters allow one motor to be serviced while maintaining continuous system operation using the backup motor and filter.  There are also dual 100 mesh stainless steel suction filters within the reservoir. Dual differential pressure gages and switches are provided to monitor circulation and signal an alarm caused by high levels of filter contamination.

An air cooled heat exchanger maintains a constant oil supply temperature. The heat exchanger used with this Circulating Oil System removes approximately 36,000 BTU/HR; oil comes in at about 150° and circulates out at 130°.  The fan motor is powered by the same voltage as the primary motor (it does not operate when the backup 125 VDC motor is in use).

Additional controls include:

·          Bronze check valves located after each pump and at the system outlet to ensure fluid flows in only one direction.

·          A bypass relief valve used to set system output pressure, adjustable from 7 to 35 PSI.

·          An additional bypass relief valve provided to protect the pumps and system components in the event of an overpressure condition.

·          A stainless steel pressure gage displaying 0-60 PSI.

·          A stainless steel thermometer located near the heat exchanger outlet displays 0-250° F.

·          A pressure switch near the system outlet is adjustable from .5 to 80 PSI and housed in a Nema 4 enclosure.

·          A conduit box and relay.

·          A flow switch adjustable from 1 to 6 GPM.

·          A 7” centerline liquid level gage on the outside of the reservoir with a dial thermometer displaying temperatures from 0° to 250° F, allowing visual check of liquid level, condition, and temperature at a glance.

·          A low level switch in the reservoir that can be wired to shut down machinery or turn on warning devices when the liquid supply fails or recedes to a predetermined level.

·          This system also included separate needle valves and paddle wheel flow indicators to be installed at the bearings by the customer.

All Circulating Oil Systems are quoted specifically to customer requirements.  Pricing can be determined only after the Circulating Oil System Request Form (found on this page) is completed.  Contact the bearing manufacturer for information on the flow rate and fluid required.
