Nylon Liquid Level Gages with Adjustable Centerlines can accommodate centerline distances up to 1/4" longer or shorter than the specified measurement, for total adjustability of 1/2". This range of adjustability compensates for variances that can occur during the production of plastic tanks. It is also suited to field installations where the distance between mounting holes may be less precise than in a controlled setting.
Liquid level gages are used to view liquid levels in hydraulic reservoirs, tanks, large steel mill pumps, gearboxes, bearing housings, hydraulic equipment, crankcases, transformers and machinery oil reservoirs. Their use can be extended to many industrial liquid level viewing applications.
The length between the center of the two bolts is referred to as the centerline. Gages are available with centerline measurements ranging from 3” to 36”. The centerline distance can be lengthened by 1/4" or shortened by 1/4", for a total adjustable range of 1/2". For example, a gage with a 6” centerline can accommodate a centerline length from 5 3/4" to 6 1/4". This adjustment is made by hand without the use of tools. No disassembly is required.
Fluid enters through the cross hole in the hollow lower bolt. The gage is vented into the tank through the top bolt. These gages feature aluminum alloy end blocks. An o-ring secures each end block in position. When moderate pressure is applied, the top end block will slide within a 1/2” long groove in the sight to adjust the centerline length.
The Trogamid nylon sight is clear and durable. Liquid level and clarity can be viewed from all angles. A 1/8” wide red line on the back of the sight enhances liquid level visibility. Leak-proof construction is achieved with Buna-N seals. The units tolerate up to 125 PSI and 205° F.
The gage can be mounted from the front of the tank with (2) 1/2”-20 aluminum bolts, 1/2”-13 bolts, or M12 X 1.75 bolts. It can also be secured from the back of the tank using (2) hex nuts. 1/4", 3/8”, 1/2" or 3/4” male NPT adapters are available.
The adjustable gage design is patent pending.
