Over Flow Sights are used in oil lines to allow visual observation of the flow and clarity of the oil.  They are often used on large ring oil or reservoir type bearings of steam turbines or gear boxes, but can be used for many other applications.  Over Flow Sights are used with low pressure.  The liquid flows upward through the bottom inlet, over the center stand pipe, and exits the sight through a side outlet. The chamber is vented with a cap nut.

The flow sight withstands temperatures up to 160° F.  The body of the flow sight is aluminum alloy and the sight chamber is acrylic (Pyrex is available upon request, for temperatures up to 225° F).  The stand pipe is plated steel and measures 1 7/8" in height from the center of the side outlet.  Buna-N seals are standard (Viton seals are available upon request).  The diameter of the reservoir is 2 23/32”.  The longest width of the unit is 3 7/16" and total height is 6 1/4”.

The unit is sturdy but can be disassembled for cleaning if required.
