Oil-Rite manufactures Lubrication Systems specifically to customer requirements. All systems are engineered, designed, manufactured and fully tested at Oil-Rite. This is an example of a custom built Circulating Oil System.

This stainless steel Circulating Oil System is equipped with a cast iron pump providing 3.7 GPM at 15 PSI. The severe duty, premium efficiency, 1 HP, 1150 RPM, TEFC motor is operated by 3 phase power at 208-230/460V 60Hz.

The 36 gallon capacity reservoir is constructed with 304 stainless steel. A top filler cap makes filling the reservoir quick and simple. The filler cap is equipped with an air filter and liquid strainer to help maintain liquid quality. There is a 2” 150# RFF return connection and a 1” female NPT drain valve. The tank is also equipped with a 1” female NPT spare connection.  A 3/4” NPT purge connection toward the top of the unit can be used to offset oil flammability.  A baffle in the tank separates sediment and reduces turbulence. A 100 mesh stainless steel suction filter within the reservoir filters larger debris. the 3/4” female NPT oil conditioner return and the suction connection can be used to further filter the fluid using a customer-supplied filtration system.

This system is plumbed for continuous operation with dual filtration systems. The (2) 23 micron, 1000 beta filters located near the outlets help maintain liquid quality. One filter can be serviced while maintaining continuous system operation using the duplicate filter. The filters feature spin-on elements for ease of cleaning and replacement.

An air cooled heat exchanger maintains a constant oil supply temperature. It removes approximately 15,000 BTU/Hr. This system was designed for an application where oil circulates in at about 150° F and out at 130° F. The 1/2 HP, explosion-proof rated fan motor is operated by 3 phase power at 230/460V 60Hz.

Heaters can maintain a certain liquid temperature and assist in cold weather start-ups. This Circulating Oil System features a 3 kilowatt screw plug immersion type heater. The heater is mounted on the side of the reservoir and housed in a Nema 7 enclosure. The heater has an integral thermostat adjustable from 60° to 250° F.

Additional controls include:

·          Dual stainless steel dial thermometers displaying 0° to 250° F, located near the heat exchanger inlet and outlet.

·          (2) 3/4” UNC ground pads located on the reservoir.

·          304 and 316 stainless steel piping and fittings

·          A stainless steel check valve located at the system outlet to ensure fluid flows in only one direction.

·          A bypass relief valve used to set system output pressure, adjustable from 7 to 35 PSI.

·          Dual stainless steel pressure gages, (1) located after the pump and (1) located near the system outlet, each displaying 0-30 PSI.

·          An explosion proof rated pressure switch adjustable from 0 to 15 PSI

·          A stainless steel pressure transmitter located near the pump outlet, 0 to 30 PSIG range, with 4-20 mA output.

·          A 315 stainless steel flow indicator, with double window and impeller, located near the system outlet.

·          A back pressure/relief regulator located at the system outlet to help maintain desired pressure, adjustable from 5 to 15 PSI.

·          A 10” centerline 304 stainless steel liquid level gage on the outside of the reservoir with a dial thermometer displaying temperatures from 0° to 250° F, allowing visual check of liquid level, condition, and temperature at a glance.

This custom built circulating oil system measures 54” by 30 1/4”. The overall height is approximately 34 11/16”. The system can be secured using (4) mounting holes located on the base of the unit.
