Oil-Rite specializes in developing Circulating Oil Systems built specifically to customer requirements.  All systems are engineered, designed, manufactured and fully tested at Oil-Rite.  This is an example of a custom built Circulating Oil System.

 

This Circulating Oil System was designed to lubricate continuous duty motor bearings.  It provides 5 GPM at 15 PSI.  The 1/3 HP, 1800 RPM, TEFC motor is powered by 3 phase power at 230/460V 60Hz. 

 

A liquid-cooled heat exchanger maintains a constant oil supply temperature to cool bearings. The heat exchanger used with this Circulating Oil System removes approximately 23,100 BTU/HR.

 

This system is plumbed for continuous operation with dual filtration systems.  The 10 micron stainless steel filters feature replaceable elements, allowing one filter to be serviced while maintaining continuous system operation using the duplicate filter.  Dual differential pressure gages and switches are provided to monitor circulation and signal an alarm caused by high levels of filter contamination. 

 

The welded steel reservoir has a 15 gallon capacity.  A top filler cap makes filling the tank quick and simple.  The filler cap is equipped with an air filter and liquid strainer to help maintain liquid quality.  A baffle in the tank separates sediment and reduces turbulence.  A 100 mesh stainless steel suction filter inside the reservoir filters out larger debris.  A 9” centerline liquid level gage on the outside of the tank has a thermometer displaying temperatures from 0° to 250° F, allowing visual check of liquid level and condition at a glance. 

 

There are (2) 1/2” female NPT drains on the bottom of the unit with pipe plugs installed; the drains are extended with pipes at a 90° angle to allow easy access.  There are also (2) 1” female NPT returns, one on the front of the unit and one on the back of the unit.  Both returns have a pipe plug installed.   

 

Additional controls include:

·          A pressure switch located near the system outlet is adjustable from 0-30 PSID.

·          An automatic bypass relief valve is used to set system output pressure and is adjustable from 7 to 35 PSI. 

·         An additional bypass relief valve provided to protect the pumps and system components in the event of an overpressure condition. 

·          A flow switch adjustable from .04 to 1.1 GPM.

·          A bronze check valve located at the outlet allows fluid flow in only one direction. 

·          3-way isolation ball valves for shutoff and isolation of pressure gages and pressure switch.

·          A low level switch in the reservoir can be wired to shut down machinery or turn on warning devices when the liquid supply fails or recedes to a predetermined level. 

 

This custom built circulating oil system measures 24” by 15”. The overall height is approximately 38”. The system can be secured using (4) mounting holes located on the base of the unit.
