Oil-Rite manufactures Lubrication Systems specifically to customer requirements. All systems are engineered, designed, manufactured and fully tested at Oil-Rite. This is an example of a custom built Circulating Oil System.

This Circulating Oil System is equipped with a cast iron pump providing 1 GPM at 75 PSI. The 1/3 HP, 1725 RPM, TEFC, motor is operated by single phase power at 115/230V 60Hz.

The 8 gallon capacity reservoir is constructed of welded steel. A top filler cap makes filling the reservoir quick and simple. The filler cap is equipped with an air filter and liquid strainer to help maintain liquid quality. There are (2) 1” female NPT returns and (2) 1/2” female NPT drains. A baffle in the tank separates sediment and reduces turbulence. A 100 mesh stainless steel suction filter within the reservoir filters larger debris. A low level switch inside the reservoir can be wired to shut down machinery or turn on warning devices when the liquid supply fails or recedes to a predetermined level. The wiring can be accessed through the conduit box and relay.

A 20 micron filter located near the outlet helps maintain liquid quality. The filter features a spin-on element to facilitate simple cleaning and replacement.

An air cooled heat exchanger maintains a constant oil supply temperature. It removes approximately 5,700 BTU/Hr. This system was designed for an application where oil circulates in at about 284° F and out at 230° F. The 1/40 HP, 3000 RPM, TEFC, fan motor is operated by single phase power at 115V/60Hz. An explosion proof rated, UL/CSA approved temperature switch is located near the heat exchanger outlet and adjustable from 75° to 200° F.

Heaters can maintain a certain liquid temperature and assist in cold weather start-ups. This Circulating Oil System features a 1500 watt screw plug immersion type heater in the reservoir. The heater is mounted from the side of the reservoir and housed in a Nema 4 enclosure. It has an integral thermostat adjustable from 60° to 250° F.

Additional controls include:

·       A bronze check valve with a Teflon seat located at the system outlet to ensure fluid flows in only one direction.

  • A pressure switch located near the system outlet, adjustable from .5 to 80 PSI, and housed in a NEMA 4 enclosure
  • A bypass relief valve used to set system output pressure, adjustable from 30 to 100 PSI.
  • A stainless steel dial thermometer located near the heat exchanger outlet, displaying 50° to 400° F.
  • A brass flow switch fixed at .5 GPM.
  • A temperature switch located near the system outlet, adjustable from 100° to 350 ° F.
  • A stainless steel pressure gage located near the system outlet, displaying 0-160 PSI.
  • A 5” centerline aluminum liquid level gage on the outside of the reservoir with a dial thermometer displaying temperatures from 0° to 250° F, allowing visual check of liquid level, condition, and temperature at a glance.

This custom built circulating oil system measures 18 1/2” by 15 1/2”. The overall height is approximately 31 11/32”. The system can be secured using (4) mounting holes located on the base of the unit.

All Circulating Oil Systems are quoted specifically to customer requirements. Pricing can be determined only after the Circulating Oil System Request Form (found on this page) is completed. Contact the bearing manufacturer for information on the flow rate and fluid required.

Delivery is dependent upon supplier availability, lead times range from 4 to 10 weeks.
